Asheville, N.C. (May 12, 2016)- Helios Warriors is honored to announce it has received a grant from the Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF) for $10,000, which will fund their holistic therapies program that provides veterans in Western North Carolina with affordable access to holistic healing to help them recover from the physical, emotional and spiritual traumas of their military service. The funds will support Helios Warriors’ efforts to expand their services beyond the treatment rooms, providing tools and resources to enable veterans to further their healing at home with self-massage tools and resources, as well as expanding holistic therapies in a group setting.

Marsha Bennett, Executive Director of Helios Warriors said, “Helios Warriors and the veterans we serve are thrilled to receive the support of the Disabled Veterans National Foundation through this $10,000 grant. Helios Warriors has helped local veterans heal with holistic therapies since 2007, and this grant will enable us to continue our services to this underserved population.”

Joseph VanFonda (USMC Sgt.Maj. Ret.), CEO of the Disabled Veterans National Foundation said, “The mental and physical tolls that combat can take often carry into a veteran’s civilian life. Each veterans responds to different treatments in their own way, and it is our hope that this grant will provide more veterans a path to a better life.”

We will help you gather the evidence and construct the most compelling argument for your claim, while providing you honest and capable representation before VA regional office hearings, the Board of Veterans’ Appeals, and the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. Wherever in the Carolinas you reside, let an experienced veterans’ disability compensation attorney at Grimes Teich Anderson assist you with your claim for service-connected disability compensation. You served our Country with honor, now let the attorneys at Grimes Teich Anderson serve you.

Helios Warriors is an innovative nonprofit, created to help veterans heal from the traumas of military service through holistic therapies. Many of our veterans struggle with disabilities, PTSD, intense physical pain, and emotional distress, making it difficult for them to be in relationships, hold jobs, or make incomes above poverty level. Many veterans experience feelings of despair and depression. Over 22 veterans each day commit suicide rather than face an uncertain future without hope.

Helios Warriors provides an alternative. A safety net for veterans. Our therapies provide relief for both physical and emotional pain. We make it affordable, offering low cost care.  No veteran is ever turned away for inability to pay. We give them a sense of community, a safe place where they can connect with other veterans. A place they feel loved and appreciated…every time they walk in the door.

Help us inspire hope, and bring peace, comfort and healing to our veterans.
